Yesterday, I joined a forum belonging to a local group of arcade collectors. Just after joining, someone posted a link to a Craigslist seller unloading his mini Turbo. I got in touch, and rented a van after work. After GPS sent me on a wild goose chase, and then getting absolutely lost in Snohomish for about an hour, I finally picked up the game around 9PM.
When I arrived home, I tried to unload the game myself, pushing the dolly out the back doors of the van. As gravity pushed down, I began pulling back on the cabinet, gently trying to lower it onto the concrete. I thought I was doing a pretty stellar job slowly lowering it onto the driveway, until I thought to myself “My shoes are wet and this van is lined with plasti-” and promptly fell on my ass, still holding firmly onto the dolly. I took a moment to regain my composure and ensure the cab didn’t take a significant drop. As I proceeded to wheel the dolly into the garage, my phone rang; it was our friends Tom and Emma calling to say they were a block away! I wish I’d known that two minutes ago!
